Fall Fling Celebration
October 24, 25
All of the seasons are beautiful in West Virginia, but fall is certainly the most spectacular. Come see the amazing trees from the exclusive vantage point of the New River and then enjoy the traditions of the season at the Songer Base Camp. Friday night starts with a horseshoe tournament, a sunset hike and movies on the deck. Saturday after your raft trip you could take part in pumpkin carving, scarecrow decorating or bobbing for apples, or you could just take in the sights while we prepare a country pig roast with all the fixin's.
Bridge Day
October 18, 2008
Come experience the largest one-day festival in the United States, when our famous New River Gorge Bridge is opened to pedestrian traffic and over 400 BASE jumpers test fate by plunging 876 feet to the river’s edge. You’ll finish your whitewater trip beneath the New River Gorge Bridge while admiring the parachute action from the bottom up. After a satisfying lunch back at Base Camp, catch the Songer shuttle to the bridge to experience the festivities from the top down. Better yet, package this trip with Sunday’s final scheduled Gauley River release to pack a full weekend of adrenaline-pumping action.
