Upper New River Rafting
The scenery on the Upper New River is, quite simply, awesome! Lush forests line the canyon and sandstone cliffs appear sporadically along the rim of the deep canyon. It is peaceful and humbling all at the same time.
On the Upper New River section, the preferred river craft is our self-bailing, two person duckie (also known as inflatable kayaks). With 5 minutes of instruction, you can navigate these stable yet agile boats through gentle to moderate white water. At least one raft joins the trip and carries lunch coolers for our riverside, deli-style lunch. Some guests prefer to ride in the raft and that's no problem. Through our years of experience we have observed people think they can't or don't want to use the duckies. More often than not, people take to them like ducks to water!
