Rock Climbing

The New River Gorge and Summersville Lake offer an amazing variety of climbing challenges, perfect for any level of experience. Kids and adults will learn basic rope and climbing techniques from our professional and friendly mountain guides. Our clinics focus on you, so we can tailor our route selection and skill sets to your mountaineering goals. This area is well known for its outstanding rock climbing opportunities. Climbing areas are heavily regulated by the National Park Service, though, so group sizes are limited in any given area. Large groups may need to be separated. No spectators allowed. All equipment, a deli style lunch and transportation to and from the rock are provided on both full-day trips.

What to Expect:

Typical ratio is 4 guests per guide
We provide climbing shoes (wear your own hiking boots); helmets; all essential gear

What to Bring:

Water Bottle; sunscreen; camera

What to Wear

To make your rock climbing & rappelling clinic more enjoyable, plan ahead and come prepared. That way, regardless of the weather, you’ll be comfortable and can enjoy the day that much more.

Comfortable walking shoes that are closed toed (no flip-flops); long sleeve shirt or jacket; long pants or shorts (loose fitting best); sunglasses with retainer strap; sunscreen; insect repellant (spring through fall); drinking water; camera; personal hygiene items; small backpack (optional)
