Lookout BIG Water!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

With water levels falling lower and lower in the last five weeks many were bracing in for another dry season. As the weekend ended the rain began, not so much with us directly but with numerous watersheds including the Greenbrier watershed and as far south as Northwestern North Carolina. As early as Tuesday the rain rose the New from the negatives and by Thursday we were pushing two and a half feet.
Early New water levels on Thursday had risen to more then four feet. With good water and great rapids it was just what the doctor ordered. We had many larger class IV-V rapids then normal. With big hits and large waves it was a playground of whitewater for the guides and guest; a nice blast from the past to cure any dry season hangovers the guides might have experienced. Were expecting our largest weekend on the book this Saturday and with future water levels looking to stay positive for a long time, I cant wait to have another trip!
