The thousands of families who have vacationed with Adventures on the Gorge and appreciate kid-friendly amenities tell us we understand them. That's because many of our own employees at AOTG are parents themselves. We have what families want from activities just for kids ages 6 and up so parents can go out and play, too. Plus, we have restaurants that also offer food so good your kids will actually want seconds!
We offer rafting for kids as young as 6, rock climbing, horseback riding and fishing for as young as 8, and biking for those 10 and up. Your family has a variety of choices about what you do and when you do it! Make sure to leave time for all of our basecamp fun including volleyball, videos of the day’s trips, and corn hole tournaments. We have designed detailed trip programs for younger outdoor enthusiasts through our Adventure Discovery Youth Programs to accommodate people of all ages and skills.
Upper New River trip is formatted for kids, ages 6 and up, where the focus is set on teamwork and spending time with the family while kayaking mild rapids through the dramatic scenery of the New River Gorge. Older children and adults in your crew will enjoy high adventure rafting on the Lower New River.
Non-adrenaline seekers may prefer one of our many other activities. New River Jet Boat Tours, or a trip through a recreated mountain pioneer village. Or spend the day horseback riding through the West Virginia hills! Your family will experience the beauty of West Virginia as the pioneers did hundreds of years ago. Walk through meadows, hike mountaintops for a picnic lunch or take in an afternoon of West Virginia fishing on the New River.
