Bridge Walk Tours
Adventures on the Gorge is now offering guided cat-walk tours underneath the world famous New River Gorge Bridge. Daring guests will be able to walk across the gorge on a 24 inch wide catwalk, 850 feet above the river! Bridge Walk uses an extensive safety system (harness secured to steel cables) making it impossible to accidentally fall from the catwalk on a guided tour.

The New River Gorge Bridge is one of the most iconic images in West Virginia. Built from 1974 to 1977, the Bridge was for decades the longest steel arch bridge in the world and is still the longest in North America. The bridge is also the highest vehicular bridge in the Americas and the second-highest in the world. 3,030 feet (924 m) long, its arch extends 1,700 feet (518 m). Located along US Route 19—876 feet (267 m) above the New River—the Bridge is crossed by more than 16,200 motor vehicles every day. And we take people into her exposed superstructure. Talk about a walk on the wild side!
