Songer Whitewater adds a little spice to your vacation by offering a wide variety of entertainment, activities and programs on the New River Gorge to spoil you and add to your fun in West Virginia.
Children’s Playground
Located on the Canyon Rim Campus, our Children’s Playground is in at heart of all the buzz. Built with fun in mind, this entertaining jungle gym has climbing planks, tunnel tubes, swings, slides and even a viewing tower to keep the little ones laughing. Pair this playground with our tetherball court and your kids will have hours of playtime!
Volleyball Courts
Want to challenge your friends to some good ol’ fashioned fun? We have a sand volleyball court at the Mill Creek Campus near the Rendezvous Lodge and a grass volleyball court at the Mountain State Outdoor Center. Play until you’re totally worn out and you can’t even see the ball anymore!
Game Room
With pool tables, air hockey and more, you’ll either have a place to entertain yourself or your teens while you hang out at the Rendezvous Lodge.
Disc Golf Course
9 holes of beautiful scenery and challenging play! Flying Squirrel Disc Golf course travels through the Mill Creek Campus ending at the proverbial “19th Hole,” Rendezvous Lodge. Bring your own discs and play for free or rent a disc at the Mill Creek Store.
Rangers on the Gorge: Evening Summer Series
The National Park Service offers this free program during the summer. A Ranger from the New River Gorge Canyon Rim Visitor Center comes to our Canyon Rim Campus & does various programs on local culture history, natural history, animal wildlife, tracks, and other interpretive programs. The kids love it, and the adults can’t stop talking about it.
Friday Night Free Movie Night
Join us on the pavers for the latest family favorite or action-thriller every Friday night in the summer. The smell of popcorn fills the air, as well as a little small town ambiance.
Morning Yoga Classes On the Gorge
Rejuvenate and re-balance your body and mind through yoga techniques involving the breath and mind. Our weekend classes are intended for beginners looking to relax and enjoy a little “zen-time” before a big day of adventure. Yoga postures encourage focus, inner stillness, perseverance, patience and self-acceptance. Simply put, yoga serves to create awareness and wholeness of body, mind and spirit.
Fire Pit for Campfire Stories and S'mores
There's nothing like any evening around a campfire and a mouthful of s’mores to make you feel like you're really on vacation! Grab an extra log or bring your own camp chair and settle in for an evening of laughter and storytelling around our fire pit. If you're a musician, bring your guitar or fiddle or whatever gets you moving and come start a sing-along.
Mill Creek Hiking Trails
Over 5 miles of trails wander through the wilderness of our campus as it hops and skips along beautiful Mill Creek. Listen to the creek bubble along. Bring some snacks and your camera—you may spy a deer or a turtle or find a secret hidey-hole with a special treasure!
Stop at The Grotto for a quiet, meditative moment or try your luck at the Fishin’ Hole. The kids can rent a mountain bike and blast around the trail hooting and hollering all the way. Peaceful walk or two wheeled adventure, it's up to you.
Scenic Overlooks of the New River Gorge Bridge & Canyon
A short hike along the canyon rim will bring you to some spectacular views of the New River Gorge. There are several overlooks on our property that reveal the Gorge in all it’s glory at sunset or sunrise and any time in between. Take a moment to walk out on a viewing platform and take in the famous New River Gorge Bridge. You'll be glad you did.
West Virginia Shopping
With 4 different on-site stores with a wide variety of items to choose from, you’ll have what you need for any adventure. Of course, we have a number of West Virginia Souvenirs and t-shirts, as well as rafting accessories, kayak and other adventure gear and all of the camp supplies you may have forgotten!
Deliveries to Your New River Gorge Campsite or Cabin
As a convenience to our guests, we offer on-site campfire, charcoal and ice delivery to your cabin or campsite. You can pre-order before you get here and we’ll have it ready for when you arrive or go into any store and take care of your order here.
